Subject: Prayer Request for Radhanatha
Prabhu
By Srutadeva
das
Our dear friend and
Godbrother Radhanatha prabhu is in serious condition. He
is being kept alive by a respirator and his kidneys are
also failing. He has expressed his desire not to
continue in this condition. So tonight (24-10-07) the
San Diego devotees will be going to his bedside to have
kirtan and the life support machines will be unplugged.
We humbly request all devotees around the world to chant
the Holy Names on his behalf tonight starting at 8pm,
California USA time. All glories to the Vaishnava
devotees of the Lord! All glories to Sriman Radhanatha
Prabhu! All glories to Srila Prabhupada! Hare Krishna.
Kavicandra Swami:
I feel obliged to write something of the glories of my
dear Godbrother, HG Radhanatha das (Mullen).
Feeling frustrated
that the temple he was in could not get him out on book
distribution he joined my Radha Damodara Party in 1976.
At that time we were stationed in Lousiville Kentucky.
He had already become crippled and was determined to go
for book distribution.
I tried to preach to
him that he need not worry and that it may be Krsna’s
will that he could not go out. He adamantly refused to
accept that. He got a wheel chair and convinced many
super markets to let him park in the entry ways. He
would say “I am a Crip” and I need to collect money to
go to Mayapura. Somehow we were able to drive him out
daily.
He was one ot the
biggest collectors on the party for a few years.
Although his condition was always deteriorating he never
once complained or felt sorry for himself. He never
stopped going out to distribute. He would comment that
before joining that he was a “big demon” who ate huge
amounts of meat and sold a lot of drugs. He tried many
treatments, and no matter what he did, things just got
worse. Each new doctor would tell him that the previous
one was completely wrong.
Many times he was on
the verge of death with the doctors giving up hope, but
he would somehow bounce back. Through all that that he
made a “KRSNA KIDS” newsletter and always managed to
support himself. He would sell flowers and give books.
He dabbled in real estate and made profits. He would
come for mangal artika, even when he lived 30 miles from
the temple.
Even with his legs
paralyzed and riding in a wheel chair bed, he was always
ready with a big smile to preach to whomever he met. He
always felt the KRSNA was especially kind to him. Now
with his legs amputated and dying in the IC unit, he is
still blissful.
I feel greatly honored
that I was blessed with his association and I hope that
someday I can quit worrying about my own comforts and
set out to preach.

A Tribute to a
Dear Friend
By Srutadeva dasa
Radhanatha das Brahmacari, the stalwart
sankirtana devotee of Srila Prabhupada’s
transcendental army passed away on Wednesday
night, October 24, at 8:22pm. He was
surrounded by his loving friends and
admirers who were chanting the Holy Names
with great love and affection. Today, Friday
morning at 10:00am, amidst more kirtan and
prayers, puja was performed at the
crematorium and then his broken body was
placed in the fire never to cause him
suffering again.
Hare Krishna.
We at V-CARE humbly ask all of you
to please pray for Radhanath Prabhu. Please
pray that he is forever at Srila
Prabhupada's lotus feet and helps his
beloved Guru Maharaja to serve Radha and
Krsna for all eternity.

We are sorry to bring you
the news that HG Radhanatha Prabhu has been hospitalized
for an infection related to his amputation. We encourage
all devotees to call him or if you are in the Southern
California area, please try to visit him if possible. We
will be posting the hospital address and phone number
very soon. At this difficult time, we request that
devotees pray for him so that if Krsna desires,
Radhanatha can have a full recovery in order to continue
to render the service he loves the most---distributing
Srila Prabhupada's books on sankirtana.
Our heartfelt thanks to
all of the compassionate devotees who have already sent
in their donations to assist Radhanatha with his living
and medical expenses. All of the funds sent in for
Radhanatha Prabhu this month have already been sent to
him since he is now in the hospital and will not be able
to go on sankirtana for a short while
while he recuperates. Please know we are all praying for
you, Radhanatha Prabhu. Devotees, please send in your
prayers. They will mean so much to such a humble servant
of Srila Prabhupada.
Thank you,

Dear Lord,
You have innumerable
names and all of them are a source of bliss. One such
name of Yours is "Bhakta-Vatsala", i.e., Your devotees
are very very dear to You. So my dear Lord Sri Krishna,
Your dear devotee and a wonderful soldier of Srila
Prabhupada's army is not well physically. But Lord
because You love your devotees so much, this wretched
fellow prays at Your Lotus Feet that You kindly take
care of HG Radhanath Prabhu ji, in whatever way You
want. Kindly make him remember about Yourself, in
whichever way You want him to remember.
I am extremely sorry if I may have committed any
offenses in the course of
writing this mail.

Our beloved Srila
Prabhupada has translated the word "Karuna" as
compassion or mercy. My dear Lords Nitai Gaurachandra
You are described as "parama karuna", the MOST
compassionate or merciful. Radhanath prabhu is and has
been surrendering his life unto You by engaging in Your
sankirtan mission. I pray that he fully receives Your
compassion and mercy and that You fulfill his heart's
desire - to please his spiritual master and eternally
engage in pure loving service to the ceaselessly sweet
lotus-eyed Lord. All glories to the vaisnavas!

Prabhu,
You were one of the first
devotees to preach to me in Philadelphia, back on
Janmastami Eve in 1976. I was an assistant to prabhuji
in San Diego, however I fell from my duties due to
care-giver burn out syndrome. As it turned out, I was
unable to fullfill the role of care-giver despite the
fact that I was serving a transcendental devoteee of
God. I learned about prabus sharp decline in health two
years ago from a devotee at San Fransisco Ratha Yatra
and felt heartfelt sympathies for prabhuji. I hope that
Krsna protects my prabhu and allows him to continue to
perform this supreme sacrifice of sankirtan yajna.
Hare krsna, and may your life be sublime!

We offer our prayers for
your recovery. We feel inadequate praying for one who
has such strong faith in Krsna and Prabhupada. You are
an inspiration to anyone who comes in contact with you,
because in spite of your difficult situation you still
preach, go to the temple, and encourage others in
whatever situation they are in. May Krsna bless you with
His constant association.
