Subject: Prayer Request for Jayo Prabhu

Dear Devotees,

Hare Krishna,

I am writing regarding my dear Godbrother Jayo Das (Joseph Solomon) who is currently hospitalized in the MICU bed 02 at the University Medical Center in Denver Colorado. He has been recently diagnosed with end-stage renal disease and is on dialysis three times week. His older non-devotee brother Hank Solomon was in Denver for one week when he was initially hospitalized.

I call Jayo regularly from Orlando and try to encourage him in his Krishna Consciousness as well as consult with his brother in Boston, regarding his medical condition and treatment. I have been given power of attorney along with his brother by Jayo Das.

Jayo Das is a very dear disciple of Srila Prabhupada who carried his Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada barefoot on palanquin on parikaram around Vrndavan after he departed. He spent time as a book distributor in the US, distributing the most Krishna trilogies in a Christmas marathon in front of Macy's in a Santa suit one year in New York and as a BBT library party member in India. After that he helped His Grace Bhakti Svarupa Damodar Maharaja with raising funds to establish the temple in Manipur by helping to run an apartment complex in Oklahoma with myself.

Jayo developed diabetes sometime after that and had been living on his own with continuing health complications. He continued to assist Bhaktisvarupa Damodar with B.I. work as was possible.

I have contacted Nicottma Das at the Temple in Denver to arrange visits at the hospital and has been seen by Hari Mohan Prabhu and his wife Radharani DD, his landlord, and Padmalochan Prabhu (BSDS). His condition is very fragile.

I would like to request any assistance, prayers, and advice to assist him in this difficult time.

If there is anyone in the Denver area who might be able to visit him and read to him we well as take prasadam please let me know or contact Nicottma dasa at the Denver Temple.

Thank you for your email.

Jayo was discharged from the hospital to a nursing home in Denver but after several days of no bipap, which he requires for sleep, he 911'd himself back to Denver University Hospital. After several weeks of trying to place him in another facility they were unsuccessful due to financial reasons. On Thursday of last week, he was discharged home by ambulance. He is able to transfer to the wheelchair but he cannot access the bathroom or any other rooms because the wheelchair is wider than the door.

Home care is supposed to start coming two weeks from now. We are trying to arrange some interim care providers as soon as possible until than with his brother.

He will continue to require the prayers from the Vaishnava's during this difficult period of transition.

Any suggestion's or comments are welcome .

Thank you for setting such a good example of a brave soldier in Krishna's army. Krishna is testing you and you are passing His test. We are very proud of you - as I am sure Srila Prabhupada, the guru parampara and Sri Sri Radhe Shyama are also. I am praying that you will always remember Krishna and never forget Him. By some higher arrangement, I am in Sri Vrindavan Dhama. I am praying to the trees and creepers and other residents here for your success in achieving the goal of life.

I met Jayo once a few times over the years. I judged him as being
overweight for I thought he was his body. I judged him for he was not in
my "camp" because I am a foolish neophyte. I was so foolish that I could
not see his deep faith in Srila Prabhupada and Krsna. I pray that any
service that I have done for the devotees including glorifying them will
be taken in consideration by the Lord, otherwise my position is hopeless.

Please take care of this soul, Jayo Prabhu, who has helped You and other devotees in KC. I don't understand the meaning of all these wonderful devotees in the last few years that are leaving us. Too many are now leaving and pretty soon what will this material world be without all these wonderful souls taking on so much to give to others.
