Subject: Prayer Request for Goura
Prema devi dasi
Hari Bol
assembled devotees,
Please
accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila
Prabhupada, who has so kindly given us His Divine Grace…
in every moment.
How fortunate we are to be allowed to participate in Sri
Caitanya Mahaprabhu’s Sankirtana Movement, wherein we
are all endeavoring to share our Prabhupada’s glorious
KC Process within our family of devotees and with others
along the way.
“Attachment to his Lotus Feet is the perfection which
fulfills all desires.”
You may remember that our dancer, Goura Prema dasi, was
severely injured two years ago when her right leg/foot
was run over by a car, completely crushing her ankle,
along with several major breaks in her leg. After two
serious reconstructive surgeries, she returned to the
dorm at the Sri Ram Bharatiya Kala Kendra in Delhi,
where she began a daily regime of physical therapy and
attending her classes. Krsna rewarded her astounding
determination and sincerity to dance for Him, enabling
her to have a lead role in the RAM LILA last September,
at the famous Kamani Theatre in Delhi, subsequently
appearing on the front page of the Times of India.
During her interviews with many members of the press,
she gave full credit to Srila Prabhupada for
distributing the glories of Sri Rama to the entire
world!
We all thought she was out of harm’s way until 5 days
ago. She was practicing with her dance gurujee and
several other girls for an upcoming performance, when
suddenly she fell on the floor in excruciating pain!
She was rushed to a medical facility, where x-rays
revealed that a nail from all the hardware in her leg,
was piercing into a bone! Several Drs. concluded that
since the ankle and bones had healed properly, that she
should have all the hardware removed. Because Katthak
dancing is quite strenuous, the internal wires and nails
can actually cause damage, during her daily 4hour dance
sessions. As it is now, she cannot even walk until
surgery is performed to remove the piercing nail from
the bone!
The surgery is scheduled for 6am on Tuesday morning, May
15th, at the MaxCare Hospital in Saket (suburb of
Delhi)…the same hospital where she was operated on just
2 years ago!
WE NEED YOUR PRAYERS AND BLESSINGS!
We also need $1,300! It is so very difficult to ask
again for funds to take care of Goura Prema’s operation,
but we have no other option. This will cover the costs
of the operation and 2 days in the hospital for post-op
care. We are praying that devotees who have been
blessed in this lifetime…with enough Laksmi to help
others…will see their contribution to Goura’s operation
as an auspicious investment to Krsna’s devoted dancer!
Goura P. Riggan has a BA account in America and I have a
Citibank acct in Delhi. The hospital will not perform
the operation until all the money comes in. Goura’s
email address is gloriousgoura@hotmail.com. If you are
not in a financial position to help others at a time
like this, we totally understand! Please send her your
prayers and blessings, which are also most healing and
encouraging.
Our family prays daily for opportunities to reciprocate
and serve devotees, who are the bestowers of Vaisnava
krpa.
Hoping this finds you and your family healthy and
enlivened in our on-going services for the pleasure of
His Divine Grace AC Bhaktivedanta Srila Prabhupada!
Gratefully,
Mahadevi dasi
