Dear Lakshmi Priya
Prabhu,

I am a mother of a 17
year old son and wanted to write to you to tell you
how sorry I am for your tremendous loss. I cannot even
imagine losing my
son at this age or at any time. You must be such a
strong devotee to have
the strength to endure this pain. You are an inspiration
to all of us. I
wanted to tell you that you are in my thoughts and
prayers and that I very
much appreciate the memorial site you and your family
made for other
children to learn from. It took a lot of courage and
compassion. Thank you
so much. Please stay strong in the shelter of Srila
Prabhupada's lotus

was taken away so suddenly at a young age. Give him a

decision to take him from this world at such a young age
for a reason only
You know. But, we must have faith that whatever that
reason is, You made a wise decision. In time, his family
and dear friends will realize what that
was.
Dear Srila Prabhupada, kindly keep David and his
devotional family close
to your lotus feet always. In this way they will always
remain safe.

I was so blessed to have
chosen to care for a child as wonderful as David.
He was truly a gift, special, and what I would call
"touched." It's
difficult to make sense of why he was taken so soon, so
young, but I know
that Krishna blessed me just by being David's mother,
and His Mercy has
been shown time and again. Although David was in a
horrifically tragic
crash, and did not pass quickly, I understand that he
became peaceful and
accepted death. We also felt his presence at his
funeral, especially when
he was given his japa mala, and his arm and wrist, which
had been in
rigor, suddenly relaxed, and he put his left index
finger out for his
beads!! We all saw this! He accepted Krishna, and was
fortunate to know
the Holy names, and for his brothers to witness this was
a wonderful
miracle. We will miss David, but his memory will live
forever in our
hearts and minds. Hare Krishna! Love you dear David,
buried as a Brahmin,
with the sacred thread. Funeral ceremony assisted by his
brother Nic, who is only 19. Attended by close family
and friends.
