Inspirational Poems and Paintings
by Annapurna devi dasi

“Let us take shelter of Lord Nrsimhadeva to purify our hearts and make us fearless in our duties of preaching Krishna consciousness. Philosophy is there. Example is there. What more do we need?”

From a lecture on the Srimad Bhagavatam, 7.5.41 given by HH Indradyumna Swami in Moscow on September 25, 2007 at the Russian yatra festival.

O Lord Kaana (Krishna), with its crooked motions and the sharp fangs of its wicked desires, the great snake of my mind torments the entire world.
O all powerful Lord, O crusher of Kaliya, please punish that snake with Your dancing. Please place on it the mark of Your lotus feet.

"Do not withhold the treasure of your heart
The wise say that one who does not
distribute his wealth is like a penniless pauper.
Happiness cannot be found in the solitary
enjoyments of one's assets."

From Prema Samprasna by Sivarama Swami, p.116.

This poem was once published in HH Krishna Ksetra Prabhu's Newsletter and written by an "Indian saintly man." We are thankful to Her Grace Annapurna devi dasi from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (U.S.) for submitting it to V-CARE for all of us to read.

"Rejoice! Rejoice! Rejoice!

The persistent curse of life is gone,
the agony of hell is destroyed,
death has no place here.
The force of Kali is destroyed.

Look for yourself!
The followers of the sea-colored Lord,
swell over this earth,
singing with melody,
dancing and whirling with joy.

We see them."
In addition, this beautiful picture is just one of many painted by Annapurna herself. She is so gifted by Lord Krsna to produce such lovely artwork. We are thankful to her for sending both the poem and the painting. The poem gives so much inspiration and the wonderful picture is so beautiful to meditate upon. Thank you so much, Annapurna Prabhu.

"There is no friend equal to knowledge.
There is no enemy equal to disease.
There is no affection equal to that
of ones child.
And there is no strength
superior to the will of God."
